The LSU Powerlifting Women’s Team took home 5th place.
Leading the women in scoring was Kayli Alphonso, who placed 2nd in the 52kg weight class. Kayli finished with the third highest female wilks total across all the weight classes. Also scoring big points for LSU was Jalynn Moll with a 3rd place finish in the 63kg weight class. Brittany Basco and Natalie Domingue finished in 4th place in the 47kg and 72kg weight class, respectively.
The Men’s team had a rare down year and missed placing top 5 in the team totals. They were led by Timothy Johnson, who placed 3rd in the 120+/SHW weight class. Kaleb Rollins placed 4th in the 74kg weight class. Jonathan Blood placed 7th and Terry Arthur placed 9th in the 59kg weight class. Darnelle Cuyler finished in 8th in the 66kg class.
This year ended LSU Powerlifting’s 7 year streak of winning the Men’s team title, Women’s team title, or the (retired) Combined team title. It also was the first time in 12 years that the team failed to produce at least 2 individual Collegiate champions.
