LSU Powerlifting Women 2011 National Champions

LSU Women’s Team took home its 3rd team title by producing 4 gold medal winners and having all 7 entered women achieving All-American honors. 

Samantha Baker highlighted the group by winning her 3rd Collegiate title in the 67.5kg weight class. She became the 4th lifter in LSU history to win 3 Collegiate Nationals titles but she is the 1st to win 3 times in 3 different weight classes! Kaitlin Stewart won her 2nd straight title in the 48kg class. Not to be outdone, Kiela Badeaux won her 2nd straight title in the 56kg class. Ariel Parker was LSU’s 4th Gold medal winner with her victory in the 90kg class. Kelly Heim placed 3rd and Adriana Dantin placed 5th in the 60kg class. Hillary Shields placed 4th in the 90+kg class.

LSU Women outscored 2nd place Texas A&M by 4 points.

Men

The Men’s team did well by securing 3rd in team scoring with 8 individuals getting All-American honors. They were led by Vincent Bradbury, winning the 56kg weight class in the 1st session of the meet. Also on day one, Joshua Dear placed 3rd in the 67.5kg class. The Day 2 All-Americans were:

Tommy Pittari, 2nd place in the 90kg class

Reese Verbois, 3rd place in the 82.5kg class

Andy Hughes, 4th place in the 75kg class

Day 3 All-Americans:

Travis Nichols, 3rd place in the 125kg class

Conrad Cable, 4th place in the 125+kg class

Jack Ransome Little III, 5th in the 125+kg class

LSU Men lost by 12 points to the winning team from the University of Lousiana Lafayette (ULL).
